Lokum coffee table | a glass favourite in amber

You can’t have missed that glass is a hot topic right now. Glass bricks from the 70ties seem to be back, in colourful ways like I showed you from Isola design festival earlier this year and in reeded versions, I wrote about in this blogpost: Get inspired by the use of reeded glass bricks in this Parisian apartment  Both in Milan and Copenhagen, I spotted solid glass tables again, many of which were amber coloured, which I really love! Perhaps you’re already familiar with the Lokum series, or you saw the mdf Italia tables in my blog post about the Ark Journal curation at Pakhus 11.

Lokum coffee table

The Lokum coffee table by Sabine Marcelis for Acerbis is made from hand-blown glass in warm amber or smoky grey. Depending on the time of day and where you stand, the table seems to shift — creating subtle shadows and reflections that add depth and interest without ever feeling too loud.

Each table is unique, thanks to the glassblowing process, and the design reflects Sabine Marcelis’ thoughtful use of colour and light. Available in both rectangular and square versions, it works just as well as a standalone piece or styled with other furniture. Whether you place it in the middle of your living room or in a quiet corner,I like the sculptural touch of them making them modern and timeless.
