Artisan as seen in Paris

It has been a few years I last visited Maison & Objet in Paris. I went several times for the September edition but never in January and it felt good to be back! Paris had some freezing cold days during my stay. And when I looked at the weather forecast on my first day in Paris, there would be no exception whilst my second day looked a bit warmer and sunny. I was happy to hop on a train from Gare du Nord on arrival and straight to Villepinte and the actual fair on my first day.

On arrival it felt a bit like coming home, and it made me realize how much I love the buzz of trade fairs. I went straight to the Press room to drop off my luggage and visit some of the brands I had saved in the Maison & Objet app. A few  of them I had not meet in years. It was such a pleasure to see each other and getting introduced personally to their new design, I will share more in the coming weeks.

Meeting Artisan

While walking through the first hall I saw the beautiful styled stand of Artisan and their collection of wooden furniture. Artisan has its origins in a traditional wood workshop at Costovic in Bosnia and Herzegovina. More than 50 years of experience in working wood is visible in the current collections, including the iconic Neva collection with designs such as the Neva Lounge Chair, Neva Dining Chair and Neva Dining Table. Each and every one of them is timeless and authentic designs, a fusion between traditional work and the latest technologies with wood as a basis.

Leno Bar

The Artisan Leno Bar cabinet was designed by Michael Schneider. The contrasting combination of wood and steel gives the bar cabinet an industrial look. The handles are part of the doors and are expertly carved. A minibar is hidden behind the doors. Thanks to integrated bottle compartments, a bar table and a glass shelf for beautiful glasses. The Leno Bar cabinet is made of solid wood and has a black powder-coated steel base. Available in European and American walnut, oak, cherry, elm and maple wood.

Neva Chair

It were the soft curves of  the  Artisan Neva chair that immediately draw my attention. The Artisan Neva Dining Chair is an airy design by Regular Company and belongs to the Neva collection. It is a simplistic and elegant dining room chair. I have always admired beautiful bent wood, something I have seen with my own eyes over the years in various factories of well-known brands.

The organic curves give the chair real character and the bracket functions as a back and armrest at the same time. A design that will not look out of place in many different interior styles.

Made from American/European walnut, oak, ash, cherry, elm or maple and can be finished with an oil or soap if necessary. Various leather or fabric finishes are also available.

Leno Sideboard

The Artisan Neva Sideboard is a playful design by Regular Company. A storage sideboard in a minimalist design in warm wood and somewhat retro. The edges and the surface finish also show Artisan’s craftsmanship in this design.

Due to the various options such as closed doors, open doors, drawers and shelves, you can put together your own unique cabinet or simply choose one of the two beautiful designs from the MisterDesign collection.
