The Collectible Edit | NockNock Art Fair favourites

Just before a huge crowd came in on the opening night of the NockNock Art Fair, I had the chance to browse the various stands. I spoke to some familiar favorites, but also met a few new artists. NockNock distinguishes itself as a fair because the artists themselves showcase their work, without a gallery acting as an intermediary. At NOCKNOCK, you can meet all the artists and purchase their work on-site. NockNock originated from the NockNock ART platform, with the goal of giving artists the platform they deserve.

At many fairs I attend, I find myself drawn to the same things: photography and sculptural forms, although I certainly appreciate the other works on display. For this article I selected a few favourites of mine, a photo or two can be found in this article, and more at my NockNock Highlight on Instagram, including those of artist I recently saw at other exhibitions.

Again capturing photos at exhibitions like this is never easy, so bare with the quality of some of the images.

I also had the opportunity to see more of Osiris Hertman’s larger work. Last week I wrote an article about his new work and I had already seen a few of his mirror wall sculptures. The large table, combining two-direction rolled high-gloss stainless steel legs with Japanese Shou Sugi Ban style charred wood, was definitely my favourite piece shown at NockNock. One of the most surprising photographers, and this is, of course, a personal experience, I found to be Mine Manap Turel. The colors and scenes in her photos, taken in Japan, immediately caught my eye. Read the story behind on her website: Mine Manap Turel Photography
