Gallery Stéphanie Frederickx

With friends currently reporting from Paris Design week, while I myself skip the September fair and Paris Design week this year to enjoy a small summer trip to Italy instead. I feel some fomo creeping up and I have to remind myself, the galleries will still be there when I visit Paris next and there are many other galleries in my own town and nearby places. And there is a particular one I want to show you today: Gallery Stéphanie Frederickx.

In the middle of Summer holidays Stéphanie Frederickx sent me an invitation to the exhibition in Knokke, Belgium where the work of different designers will be on view. I recognized a few names from earlier exhibitions or installations held. Expect work of Stijn D’hondt, Cengiz Hartmann, saw his work at DDW and Milan Design week, Fabio Hendry, Charlotte Jonckheer, Perla Krauze, Linde Freya Tangelder, Turbina studio, Susan Theunissen, Nathalie Van der Massen, Kick Veldman, Karen Verlinden, and Lucas Zito when visiting.

A nomadic gallery specialising in collectible design and contemporary art

Gallery Stéphanie Frederickx is a nomadic gallery specialising in collectible design and contemporary art. While based in Knokke, Belgium, the gallery curates and presents exhibitions in dynamic locations across Antwerp, Brussels, and Mexico. With a focus on emerging and established artists and designers, the gallery explores the intersection of art, design, and context.

Stéphanie Frederickx: “Each project is site specific, immersive, and thoughtfully curated to foster dialogue between space, object, and viewer. As a curator I am passionate about blending styles. I embrace diversity and push beyond the ordinary. Emotion, love for material and respect for harmony are key elements in my approach. My exhibitions present well known, established artists and designers alongside lesser known and up and coming ones. What they share is a position in the grey zone between art, landscapes and design, reducing superfluous frills to the essence, the pure form “
