Previously I introduced House of Léon to you and talked about their fourth collection Milano: Discover House of Léon and the Milan Collection From the many reactions I got I know you loved it as much as I did. For those who missed the story behind House of Léon, Steven and Jordan, twin brothers from Los Angeles, set out to fill a gap they saw in the interiors world. Stylish, well-made furniture offered at a fair price! Their answer was House of Leon, a home décor and furniture brand they founded end 2021.
In just a few years, they have introduced four complete collections. Drawing inspiration from different places, traditions, and ideas, the brand designs each line so pieces naturally complement one another, making it simple to combine styles and create a cohesive home.
Recently I had a look at the brand again and thought I show you some designs of a previous collection of them: Kyoto. This collection is inspired by the ancient Japanese technique of charring wood and consists of different pedestals, a coffee table made out of a solid slab of Samoan Wood. A small entry Console crafted from premium Douglas Fir and a collection of chairs. A part of the collection is also available in natural Oak.

I have always been drawn to pedestals and have often stood on the point of adding a few to my home, especially in the hallway .. along the wall I think a few of them would look great. And over the years, I have collected a few items that would perfectly fit those. Pictured above and below. Pedestals or plints, if that is the name you prefer, by House of Leon within the Kyoto collection.
Shinto Dining Chair
I am really charmed also by the Shinto Dining Chair in black, a design indspired by the traditional Japanese Torii Gate found at the entrances of Shinto shrines. The thick 1/4 inch leather brings back the feel of vintage pieces that are so hard to find today. Untreated, it develops a natural patina over time, gradually shaping itself to the handcrafted wooden frame. Together with the curved backrest, the sturdy leather seat offers both comfort and presence. What I love most is the clarity of its simple lines, giving the chair a timeless quality that feels like a rediscovered Japanese classic.
